Disoriented Person – Snilesworth Moor

THURSDAY 16TH MAY 2024 (0813 HOURS)

We were called out by North Yorkshire Police to a report of a potentially unwell and disoriented person on the North York Moors near Snilesworth Moor. Although at that time of the day a good number of our volunteer Team members were already at or on their way to work etc, we still managed a decent turn-out to an RV-point at Square Corner, near Osmotherley. On arrival there, two Land Rover crews were quickly dispatched to search for the casualty whilst other members gathered at the RV, preparing for a possible lengthy search.

Fortunately, the casualty was soon located by the Land Rover crews and once medically assessed, the Police were updated and the casualty was subsequently left in the care of the Yorkshire Ambulance Service crew.

Many thanks to the landowners for access via their property.

Twenty Cleveland MRT members either attended or were en route when stood down. By the time both vehicles had returned to Base the call-out had lasted approximately 4-hours.
