Ambulance assistance – Greenhow Plantation

FRIDAY 19TH JANUARY 2024

We were called at lunchtime by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust to a report of a man who was feeling unwell whilst walking in the Greenhow Plantation area, which is east of Clay Bank.

Team members were directed to the area, whilst we used the mountain rescue Phone Find system to get an accurate location for the casualty. By then he was feeling well enough to head to a nearby farm on lower ground, accompanied by other members of his walking party. Once we had passed their location to the ambulance service they and our Land Rover crew went to the farm and, when it became clear that he was there, we were able to leave him in the capable hands of the ambulance crew for assessment and treatment as necessary. We wish him well.

Eleven Cleveland MRT members were involved for just under 1.5-hours by the time our Land Rover returned to Base.
