Father Christmas completed his traditional Sleigh Run around the streets of Great Ayton last night with some Elves (some of whom who looked suspiciously like Cleveland MRT members) carrying their collection buckets. They were very heavy by the end of the night (the buckets that is, not the Elves!). In fact, the people of Great Ayton and visitors to the town were so generous that we collected the amazing amount of £1,142.90. No wonder the buckets were heavy!
We will publish the final amount (including online donations etc) and give further details of the allocation of funds as soon as we can after Christmas. Many thanks to all the Team Elves who did so much preparation work behind the scenes and packed away afterwards plus those others who helped us to collect en route.
Meanwhile please enjoy looking through these ‘few’ photos taken on the night.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
