Thursday 28th September 1500hrs. We were alerted by YAS to help with a 68 year old Doncaster lady who had slipped and hurt her knee whilst hiking with a walking group.
We attended the incident, that was in the extreme south of our area, with our two landcover ambulances and nine personnel. The lady had fallen a mile or so from the village of Boltby. We managed to reach her by driving across the muddy farm tracks and assisted the ambulance personnel, who had walked there, in treating the lady before we transported her to the waiting ambulance at Boltby.
Nine team members were involved for around an hour.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
