TUESDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER 2023
At the request of North Yorkshire Police we searched an area of the North York Moors for a missing man. Police officers and a police dog were also involved as was a helicopter from the National Police Air Service. In the early hours of this morning we were stood down by the Police and they continued with their enquiries to trace the man who was still missing at that stage.
Thirteen Cleveland MRT members were involved in the call-out which commenced in the late-evening and lasted for approximately 6-hours (plus return travel time back to our Base and then home).
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
