We were contacted during the afternoon by Cleveland Police who requested our assistance at an incident near Saltburn. Two Team members attended our Base and prepared a Land Rover for deployment, with other members being on standby.
Following discussions with the Police and Coastguard it was agreed that the Coastguard, who were already en route, were best placed to deal with the incident and we stood down. Our involvement lasted approximately 40-minutes with six Team members on standby or at the Base, with more to be contacted if needed.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
