Ambulance assistance – near Osmotherley

SUNDAY 30TH APRIL 2023 (1203 HOURS)

This was our third call-out in three days.

Whilst a number of Team members were involved in covering our Whalebones Walk along the east-coast paths of the Cleveland Way national trail, we received a request for assistance from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service regarding a man who had been taken ill whilst walking the same trail but a significant distance away, inland near Osmotherley.

Having redeployed some Team members from the Whalebones Walk we also dispatched a double-crewed Land Rover. Other members made their way to the scene separately. The casualty was treated by the YAS crew and we then carried him on a wheeled mountain rescue stretcher for approximately 400-metres to a waiting ambulance. We wish him well for his recovery. Fourteen Team members were deployed for just over 1.5-hours.
