Casualty Care Exam Success

A busy Sunday for the Team with seven of our members successfully passing their mountain rescue Casualty Care examination hosted by our neighbours Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team at their Base.

Many thanks to our medical officer Craig for leading on the training and to others in Cleveland MRT for their medical input in recent weeks and to the many visiting ‘training casualties’ and assessors involved in the training and in today’s examination. All are volunteers giving up their own free time to ensure that we and all MRTs have the skills and knowledge necessary to help those in need of medical care when ‘out and about’ on the hills.

Whilst those members were being put to the test, others were providing cover at the annual Esk Valley Fell Club ‘Eskdale Eureka’ run based in the Castleton area. A successful day with lots of rain and a cold wind but 119 runners started and thankfully all finished.
