We were requested to assist the Yorkshire Ambulance Service during the afternoon as one of their crews was dealing with an injured person near the Cleveland Way above Boltby village.
Two Land Rovers left our Base to head to an RV-point at the top of Sneck Yate Bank whilst other Team members deployed there in their own vehicles. However, whilst still en route we were contacted by the ambulance service who had managed to get the casualty into an ambulance so all Team members were stood-down and returned to our Base and homes.
Nineteen members were involved for just 30-minutes.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
