Ambulance assistance – near Captain Cook’s

SATURDAY 13TH AUGUST 2022 (1242 HOURS)

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service contacted the Team regarding a man who had been taken ill not far from Captain Cook’s Monument. Team members were informed and headed to the RV-point at Gribdale Gate carpark. Upon arrival they took one of our Land Rovers up the track that leads towards the monument, as that was inaccessible by the YAS vehicle.

The YAS ambulance crew was already attending to the casualty who was later walked to the Land Rover, driven back down to the carpark and transferred to the ambulance. We wish him well for his recovery.

Team members were then stood-down and were able to return to their homes etc. A total of 17 had been deployed although some were stood-down by our call-out officer before they arrived as not being required. The call-out lasted for approximately 1.25 hours including return travel time.
