SUNDAY 24TH JULY 2022
The North East Ambulance Service contacted us in the afternoon, regarding a young patient who they were attending to in the Eston Hills area, as they required our assistance to transport her to an ambulance.
Both of our Land Rovers were sent to a nearby RV-point where they were joined by other Team members. From there they headed off to assist the paramedics who were already on scene. Shortly after that she was secured within a mountain rescue vacuum mattress and lifted onto a rescue stretcher. Once loaded into one of our Land Rovers, she was transported to the RV-point and transferred to a waiting ambulance for onward treatment in hospital. We wish her well for a speedy recovery.
Nineteen Cleveland MRT members attended, initially co-ordinated by our call-out officer from home. The call-out lasted for approximately 1.75 hours including return travel time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
