We were contacted by Cleveland Police during the afternoon to assist in the search for two children who had been reported missing in the Dunsdale area, north of Guisborough.
Three Team vehicles and a number of Team members were deployed to an RV-point in the area. After a short while we were stood-down by the Police as they had safely located the missing children. Including our call-out officer a total of 21 Team members were involved in the call-out which lasted for approximately 1.5 hours.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

If you’ve been braving the elements these last few days then you will be ideally placed to enter next year’s Cleveland Survival. Entries are now open for the event which takes place on 29th March 2025.
It could be dry or wet, warm or cold - or all of them on the same day. Who knows? One thing to be certain of, is that it will be a rewarding experience and great fun. If you’ve done the Survival before then it’s time to enter again. If you’re a ‘newbie’ then please consider giving it a go - you won’t be disappointed!

The Survival is open to runners and walkers based on an orienteering course, with a route of around 20 miles, to be completed within the time limit.
