During a search call-out near to Helmsley we were alerted to an injury to a farmer, caused by a horse, on land near to our RV-point north of the town. One of our rescue Land Rovers with a crew of four, including a Team doctor, was immediately dispatched to the scene and commenced assessment and treatment of the injured man.
A short-while later a Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed and after further medical attention the casualty was loaded into the helicopter and flown to hospital for treatment. We wish him well for his recovery.
Four Cleveland MRT members were involved for just under 1-hour.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
