Sunday July 2nd 1400hrs. Rescue Dunsdale Farm Guisborough.
We were alerted to help a 34 year old lady from Hayfield in the Midlands who had fallen from her horse during a riding event in a remote area of farmland a mile or so from the nearest road.
Seventeen members of the Team responded to the callout and reached the incident site after a short walk. The Team doctor and ambulance personnel treated the lady at the scene. She was then carried on a specialised mountain rescue stretcher around 800m to the waiting ambulance.
The incident lasted around 90 minutes
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
