Casualty Care Exam Success

This weekend saw very positive results as eight of our Team members successfully passed the Mountain Rescue England and Wales Casualty Care qualification and can now deliver the professional medical care that the Team offers.

Candidates completing the theoretical exam on Saturday

The exam involves a written paper and two practical scenarios covering both trauma and medical issues. Practical exams then followed on Sunday at our Team base. We would like to thank all the volunteers involved with delivery of the training and the examiners who gave up their time to assess the candidates. A special word of thanks to Craig, our medical officer, who every year organises and leads many weeks of training and practice leading up to the exam weekend.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.

Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
