SATURDAY 17TH APRIL 2021
Our third call-out of the day came at night with a request from North Yorkshire Police to assist them with a search for a vulnerable person.
Cleveland MRT members were contacted by our Call-out Officer and deployed to an RV-point east of Captain Cook’s Monument, together with three Team vehicles including our Incident Control vehicle.
Upon arrival Team members were split into four parties and commenced searching areas of land as requested by the Police. In the early hours of the morning one of our search parties sadly located a body and the Police then attended the scene. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased person.
Twenty Team members took part in the search and were stood-down after approximately 3.25 hours.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
