Team on standby – weather related incident

We were contacted by North Yorkshire Police in the early hours of Sunday 14th February 2021 to potentially assist in the rescue of the two occupants of a delivery vehicle that was struck due to drifting snow near Ingleby Greenhow.

After liaison with the Police four of our Team members were placed on standby (with a number of others aware and available if necessary). However, a Police officer walked down from Clay Bank to meet up with the stranded motorists and was able to walk them back up to his vehicle and arranged to get them home. Their vehicle had been moved clear of the road for later recovery. Our Team members were then stood-down for the night after a few hours on standby.

No Team members were actually deployed, hence this is classed as an ‘incident’ not a ‘call-out’.
