On Saturday 6th February 2021 a Team member from Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was badly injured during a rescue having gone to the aid of someone who had developed chest pains whilst camping. Sadly the Team member fell at least 150-metres suffering significant injuries and after receiving treatment he had to be flown by helicopter to hospital where he is expected to remain for some time.
Everyone at Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team was shocked and saddened at the news. We are aware that a number of people are donating or raising funds for the Patterdale Team member concerned. To add to that fundraising effort Cleveland MRT are offering for auction this canvas print of Wastwater in the Lake District, which was photographed by one of our Team members and commercially printed. It is mounted on a slender, lightweight wooden frame and printed on canvas. It measures 100cm x 75cm and comes with wall fixings as photographed.
The print is unpacked so ideally please only bid if you live in or very close to the Cleveland MRT area – i.e. where we can deliver directly to you or we may be able to arrange collection from our Base near Great Ayton (subject to COVID restrictions). Due to the size of the canvas the cost of packing and postage is likely to be prohibitive – but if you live outside of our area and wish to bid then please contact us at fundraisers@clevelandmrt.org.uk to check first.

Please only bid via our eBay page and 100% of the income from this auction will be donated to support the injured man and aid in his recovery.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
