Every three years our Team members have to requalify as Casualty Carers (level M2) through exam and scenarios. Pleased to say all 6 candidates passed their assessments today.
We had to do it all slightly differently this year whilst maintaining the strict standards.
Thanks to Dr Mike from Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team, Tim from Great North Air Ambulance Service and Neil from North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for helping assess today along with Nurse Kath from Ops Support and Dr Dan, Pete, Dr John and especially Medical Officer Craig for the last couple of months of cramming and making training work during COVID restrictions.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
