During the current lockdown period Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team members remain available (as ever) to provide our search and rescue services. Our COVID-19 protocols, developed alongside national guidance during 2020, are there to keep our members and casualties as safe as possible.
But we all have to be mindful of the current risks that exist especially with a more infectious strain in circulation. So we would ask everyone to comply with the latest legislation and guidance, including when taking exercise and particularly to adhere to the ‘stay local’ guidance when doing so.
The British Mountaineering Council have produced a useful guide which helps to explain the current guidance for climbers and walkers.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
