TUESDAY 29TH DECEMBER 2020
A number of Team members were involved in a search in and around the Saltburn and Skelton areas during the afternoon and evening, at the request of Cleveland Police who were endeavouring to trace a man missing from Skelton.
Police officers involved in the search found the body of a man. Whilst they advise that no formal identification has yet taken place, officers are in contact with the missing man’s family.
Twenty-nine Team members were involved in the search plus one other assisting remotely. Our involvement lasted approximately 6-hours plus travelling time to return to Base etc.
Our thoughts are with the gentleman’s family and friends at this time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
