Wednesday 23rd September 2020. We received a request from our colleagues in the Teesdale and Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team to support them with a search in their area. Search teams from Swaledale and the RAF were also involved. We deployed a Team Land Rover with two Team members from our Base plus others who made their own way towards the RV-point. However, whilst en route we were notified that we were no longer required and were able to return to our area. Six Team members were involved for approximately 1.5 hours plus one other member co-ordinating our response remotely.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
