Tuesday 14th July 2020. After a very busy June for call-outs, July had started off fairly quietly but this was our third rescue call-out in the space of five days. We were contacted by the North East Ambulance Service at 6.56pm with a request to assist them in the Eston Hills. A young girl had fallen down an embankment and sustained some cuts.
Team members including our two Team doctors made their way to the casualty together with the ambulance crew. After a period of time she was able to walk to the ambulance and was then taken to hospital for further treatment. Many thanks to local farmers who assisted us with access across the land. 22 Team members were involved (plus two co-ordinating remotely) for approximately 2 hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
