Saturday 2nd May 2020. We were called by North Yorkshire Police at 1700 hours to assist in a search for a gentleman as there were concerns for his safety. Based on information from the Police, a plan was developed by Team members to search an area near to Captain Cook’s Monument. Other Team members were about to be called out when the Police informed us that he had been found safe and well. Two Team members were involved for approximately 20 minutes.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
