Thirsk Search

Saturday 8th February 2020 1449 hours. We were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to assist in the search for a 14-year old girl from Thirsk. Following a briefing by police officers, we were just about to deploy to our nominated search area when the great news came through that she had been found safe and well.

Fourteen Team members were involved for approximately two hours. We would also like to thank Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team as they were deploying two search dogs to assist, with other Team members on standby. It’s obvious that the response from the local community has been significant – so ‘well done’ to everyone who contributed to the search and the passing of information.
