Our fifth callout in ten days was a call from the North Eastern Ambulance Service to assist
a 32 year old Guisborough lady had fallen from her horse whilst on a ride with her mother through Guisborough Forest.
The volunteer members of the team and an ambulance paramedic used their 4×4 ambulances to reach the injured lady who was in a remote section of the forest she was treated at the scene before being transported two kilometres to a waiting ambulance for her journey to hospital.
The incident took just over one hour and involved 26 team members.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
