We were asked by YAS ambulance control to assist with a man who was reported as fitting in the Gribdale area. The incident occurred whilst we were running the Survival event so the two rescue squads in our Landrover ambulances were dispatched towards the area of the incident. AS we were on route we were stood down as the casualty was been transported home by his family. The crew from one of the vehicles was virtually at the RV so they continued and one of the team paramedic members talked with the family to make sure all was well. The incident lasted around 30 minutes and involved eight members.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
