Incident number 10 (1000hrs Friday Feb 3rd) saw us return to Arden Hall to continue assisting in the search for a missing 53 year old (callouts 8 and 9)
12 members of the team took part and we carried out an intensive search of the woodlands surrounding the Hall to a distance or around 300m. Officers from North Yorkshire Police were also involved in the search, as they have been every day since the gentleman went missing on Tuesday night.
Search dog Ollie and handler Ian from Swaledale MRT came across to assist and searched the route of a favourite walk of the missing man. Tomorrow, Sat. 4th we have called in assistance from all our neighbouring teams and will take the search further out from Arden Hall. We will also be assisted tomorrow by a number of specially trained mountain rescue search dogs and their handlers from all over the North.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
