Osmotherley Summer Games and Callout 47!
Thanks to everyone who came to see us today in Osmotherley. Team members and supporters had one of our Land Rovers and a Gazebo with all the medical and Rescue equipment we take on a typical callout on display.
A great day out for all the family.
Two of our team decided to join in the fun and take on the wheelie bin slalom challenge, a valiant effort, and I think they learned much about technique and bin handling from some of the younger and slicker challengers.
It then kicked off a bit!
Callout 47 was received at 14.59 a minute before a certain other sporting activity was due to kick off.
We were contacted by NEAS (North East Ambulance Service) to assist with a 12 year old boy who had sustained a head injury in Guisborough Woods near Highcliffe Nab. Team members already at the base and others responded and met in the woods with the casualty and a family member along with the NEAS Rapid Response Vehicle.
He was treated and taken to hospital for further checks.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
