Incident 43

Last night the team was contacted directly by a local farmer after walkers had found a collapsed gentleman in the Roseberry Topping Great Ayton area.
8 team members responded to the base and to the casualty location adjacent to a road head, he was showing signs of probable heat exhaustion and was taken by vehicle and then handed over to the Ambulance service and transported to James Cook Hospital for further checks.
This follows three other separate incidents over the weekend where the team were contacted for assistance by both the North East Ambulance Service and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service with incidents in Guisborough Woods and at Kildale. In each case the team was stood down whilst deploying, as the ambulance teams were able to get to their casualties without further assistance.
With the continuing good weather it’s a fantastic time to be out enjoying and exploring the Hills and Moors, but it’s worth repeating our recent advice – always take plenty of water and some snacks with you, and ensure you keep well hydrated when out enjoying your day.
