Cleveland police contacted us with reports that a 78 yr old gentleman was having difficulty descending Roseberry Topping. Members of the Public had raised the alarm and assisted the man part way down the hill.
Team members in our Land Rover Ambulance met the group at the top of Roseberry Lane. We took him to our nearby base where he was assessed by the team doctor. He was given some fluids, something to eat, and after a rest was taken back to his car where he was able to make his own way home.
It’s worth remembering that particularly in warm weather like today you should always take plenty of water and some snacks with you, and ensure you keep well hydrated when enjoying a day out on the Hills and Moors.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
