We were asked by our sister Team, Scarborough and Ryedale MRT to assist with the search for a 70 year old vulnerable lady who was missing from her home in Hunmanby, near Filey.
Twelve team members were involved in the search that also included RAF Leeming MRT, the coastguard and teams from the police.
The missing lady was located by a team from British transport Police in the mid afternoon. Cleveland Team were involved for around 5 hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

If you’ve been braving the elements these last few days then you will be ideally placed to enter next year’s Cleveland Survival. Entries are now open for the event which takes place on 29th March 2025.
It could be dry or wet, warm or cold - or all of them on the same day. Who knows? One thing to be certain of, is that it will be a rewarding experience and great fun. If you’ve done the Survival before then it’s time to enter again. If you’re a ‘newbie’ then please consider giving it a go - you won’t be disappointed!

The Survival is open to runners and walkers based on an orienteering course, with a route of around 20 miles, to be completed within the time limit.
