We were asked by Scarborough and Rydale MRT to assist with the search for a missing farmer from the Dalton area, near Thirsk. The man had not been seen for some while and was causing cause for concern. The team, along with police, personnel from four other mountain rescue teams and two search dogs searched woodland and fields in the vicinity of his farm for over 8 hours without success.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
