Sunday 11th March 1700hrs
As we were returning from the weekend’s search exercise, team personnel in one of our landrover came across a crashed motorcyclist. They dealt with the man’s injuries and arranged the attendance of police and ambulance.
The cyclist was not seriously hurt and had sorted out some of his friends to take him and his bike home.
The incident lasted 45 minutes and involved 3 team members.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
