Wednesday 13th December 20:00hrs
Whilst on our regular Wednesday night training session one of our Landrover ambulances came across a car on its side on the road out of Great Ayton. The crew of the vehicle stopped to help the local police officer who was on scene and radioed other team members to assist.
After a short while the professional emergency service arrived and we stood down from this incident and resumed our search and rescue exercise (looking for Santa in Gribdale Forest where he had crashed his sleigh…..again..he seems to do this every year!)
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
