Wednesday 02 Sept (1145hrs)
The team were contacted by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to provide assistance with the extrication of a casualty who had fallen in the Highcliff Nab area above Hutton village. One team Land Rover was mobilised along with other team members heading to the RV. at the village. The medics on scene assessed the casualty and deemed they were capable of being transferred sitting in a vehicle to the waiting ambulance in Hutton Village.
As the casualty was handed over into the ambulance, the team were tasked with another call out at Roseberry Topping.
11 team members were involved for approximately 1 hour
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
