North Yorkshire Police contacted the team to provide assistance to a male who had a medical incident to the east of Square Corner. The team deployed both Land Rovers and personnel in their own vehicles to Square Corner. From there, personnel were transferred in 4 x 4 vehicles to Dale Head approximately 2 km away. They then walked the 0.4km with the required medical kit and equipment to the casualty location.
At the site , the casualty was assessed by the team medics. Once he was treated, he was loaded onto the stretcher and wheeled to the Land Rovers at Dale Head. He was taken out of the stretcher and loaded ,sitting, into one of the Land Rovers for the transfer of approximately 1.4km to the waiting ambulance at the end of the track.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and thanks to the walking colleagues who assisted him.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
