Tuesday 21 July (1720hrs)
On Tuesday, the team were requested to provide assistance for a fallen horse rider in a field close to Errington Woods. While the team awaited confirmation of the need to attend from the ambulance crew at the scene, those members close to the base prepared the vehicles while others remained on stand by. The team were stood down by NEAS once the casualty had been assessed.
22 team members were involved.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
