FRIDAY 6th Feb (1520hrs)
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) contacted the team to provide assistance to evacuate an injured person from a remote property in Chop Gate area. Both Land Rovers and personnel were despatched to the area of Seave Green. From there a number of vehicles with personnel went up the track to the property. The casualty was treated by the critical care staff from Yorkshire Air Ambulance on site and given pain relief .The person was then carried on the Mountain. Rescue stretcher a short distance to the Land Rover. The casualty was able to sit in the Rover for the transfer down to the waiting road ambulance in Chop Gate, approx 1.2 mile away.. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
18 team members were involved for approx 2.5 hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
