2 of our Technical Rescue Team attended the first weekend of the MREW Rope Rescue Operator Instructor Course delivered and hosted by Lyon at Tebay.
With a 3 year expiry, this is valuable CPD to stay informed on current best practice and qualifies attendees to deliver training in-house to their own team. All aspects of Mountain Rope Rescue are covered, from technical specifications of the equipment used to the limits of different systems, risk management and practical trials.
The second weekend of the course is this coming weekend.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
