Standby Great Ayton – Father Christmas will soon be on his way with his famous sleigh!!
The fitness training for the elves is underway and we are busying preparing the Santa Sleigh for this year’s tour of Great Ayton.
The Santa Sleigh tour of Great Ayton will take place on Tuesday 23rd December 2025 leaving at 5.30pm and visiting all the usual places. Further details of the route and this year’s collection will be on our website in early December.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

PRE HOSPITAL CARE TRAINING
Earlier this week,4 team members attended Yorkshire Regional Group of Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care event. The evening covered Extrication and InterAgency working at a West Yorkshire Fire Rescue Service (WYFRS) facility..Discussed the considerations for casualty handling and InterAgency working across a variety of medical scenarios with WYFRS demonstrating various extrication techniques. A very interesting evening with some learning points which the team can carry into the situations we deal with.
The vehicle from Sytner, Mercedes of Teesside was used to attend the event. A great resource for non front line activities.
