Work is progressing well with the establishment of the drone capability within the team. There is the regulatory requirements, including exams, to become pilots and the testing of the drones capabilities.
Earlier this week, the @MREW drone officer came to visit our team to run a training session with the drone pilots.
Areas covered in the session included, discussions on operational deployment, search strategies and were able to compare practice between teams.

Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

PRE HOSPITAL CARE TRAINING
Earlier this week,4 team members attended Yorkshire Regional Group of Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care event. The evening covered Extrication and InterAgency working at a West Yorkshire Fire Rescue Service (WYFRS) facility..Discussed the considerations for casualty handling and InterAgency working across a variety of medical scenarios with WYFRS demonstrating various extrication techniques. A very interesting evening with some learning points which the team can carry into the situations we deal with.
The vehicle from Sytner, Mercedes of Teesside was used to attend the event. A great resource for non front line activities.
