The team were contacted by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to provide assistance with the recovery of a person who was suffering from a medical condition in Errington Woods. The team deployed both Land Rovers along with other members in their vehicles to the woods. From an area close to the car park, the required equipment was carried approximately 800m to the casualty site. Following assessment and treatment by the paramedics , the person was packaged in a casualty bag on the rescue stretcher and transferred back to the road end where the waiting ambulance was located. We wish the person a speedy recovery.
17 team members were involved for approximately 2 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

Over the last 3 days , three team members undertook the Swiftwater Rescue Technician (SRT) qualification course. The course involved both land based and in water sessions. The in water sessions were on Swale around Richmond on Saturday and on Tees at Abbey Rapids near Barnard Castle on Sunday, in some challenging water conditions.
