WEDNESDAY 20 AUG (1340 hours)
The team were contacted by Cleveland Police to assist with the search for a missing person in Saltburn area. One of the Land Rovers and the Incident vehicle were at Egton show when the call was received. Both vehicles left the show to travel to Saltburn with the other Rover also deployed. Team members and vehicles headed to a RV in Saltburn.
As members arrived they were deployed. With 2 teams deployed , others at RV preparing to deploy and some travelling to Saltburn, the team were informed by Police, the missing person was found.
A total of 22 members , including 4 support members were involved for approx 2.5 hours on call out 48.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

ANOTHER BUSY WEDNESDAY
It was an early start for some operational and support members who were attending Egton show. The team took both the control vehicle and a Land Rover along with the display and merchandise materials. Once set up, the team tested the bacon butties from a nearby stall, the best so far this season.
During the afternoon, the team received a call from Cleveland Police to assist with the search for a missing person in the Saltburn area.Due to the requirements to support the search, both vehicles were required. to leave the show early.The operational members left with the Rover leaving the support members to dismantle , pack up and bring the Incident Vehicle to Saltburn.
Other operational members headed to the meeting point in Saltburn. With two groups out searching, others at the meeting point preparing to leave and others heading to Saltburn, the team were informed the person had been found.
The support members were able to return to the base to unpack the Incident vehicle. A different day to what they expected.
A total of 22 members , including 4 support members were involved for approx 2.5 hours on call out 48.
For the operational members the day was not finished. The evening was a navigational training exercise in the Bank Foot/ Turkey Nab area.A number of target points were to be navigated to in a set time period by the 4 teams. As usual, it was competitive.
