SATURDAY 12th JULY (1245rs)
The team were requested by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist a person who had fallen when a bridge collapsed and sustained a head injury. Both Land Rovers were deployed along with other members in their own vehicles to Woodside Farm, just outside Osmotherley. This location allowed Land Rover access to the casualty site in Oak Dale.
Once with the casualty, the person was medically assessed from which it was deemed appropriate for them to be transferred back to the rendezvous point in a Land Rover. From this location, the casualty was collected by family members.
We wish the person a full and speedy recovery
Thank you to Woodside Farm for allowing the team to use the farm as a rendezvous point.
18 team members involved for approx 3 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
