The team were requested to return to the Muddies area Ingelby Barwick by Cleveland Police to repeat the search area from the previous night and beyond in daylight. The search areas were undertaken in the morning and early afternoon.
On completion of those areas , the water team were deployed with a raft to search both river banksides from Teesside High School area downstream to Preston Farm area and return on the other bankside. Two land based search teams also covered the banksides on foot.
On completion of those tasks , the team were informed of the discovery of the body.
Our very sincere condolences go to the family and friends at this devastating time.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.

MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT DAY
On Saturday, 28th June, 5 members of the team attended a RRMT (Remote Rescue Medical Technician, aka Cas Carer) development day organised by Swaledale MRT.
Representatives from 21 mountain rescue teams, approx 70 personnel, attended the event, held close to Leyburn.
The day started with a "Show and Tell" session of what medical equipment is in a team vehicle.
This was followed by a round robin event with each team creating a medical scenario which was treated by another team and observed/commented on by a third team.
The day ended with a large scenario involving personnel from various teams, who had never worked together !!
Each scenario throughout the day was not simple, they had "developments" as the care progressed.
A big thank you to Swaledale MRT for organising a great event.
