WEDNESDAY 18th JUNE (0850hrs)
The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to assist with a search for a missing person in Glaisdale area. Both Rovers and the Incident Control vehicles along with members in their own vehicles were deployed to Robinson Institute Village Hall, Glaisdale.
Areas around Glaisdale were searched during the day. Mid afternoon a find was made but not the outcome everyone hoped for. The team pass on their condolences to the family and friends of the person.
Thank you to Robinson Institute Village Hall for the use of their facilities throughout the day and to the residents of the village who provided assistance to the team with their local knowledge.
19 team members were involved for up to 12 hours
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
