Full team call out initiated to assist with the extrication of an injured MTB rider from stage 6. The rider was packaged in a vacuum mattress and casualty bag on the rescue stretcher . From the casualty site, the stretcher was sledged down the steep bank to the track of stage 6. On level ground the wheel was applied to the stretcher, then wheeled in heavy rain to the medical tent at Lordstones. The casualty was monitored in the medical tent until the ambulance arrived.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
