SATURDAY 10th MAY (0655hours)
An early morning call to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service(YAS) with an unresponsive casualty near to Faulkners Seat on Cleveland Way.
Both Land Rovers and team members in their vehicles were deployed to Lordstones Country Park.
At the casualty site, the medics on scene assessed the casualty who was now responsive. Following a period of time, the person was capable of standing with support. The decision was taken to put the person in the rescue stretcher and carry them the 600m to the base of the hill where a waiting Land Rover transferred them to the ambulance at Lordstones.
We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
20 team members were involved for approx 2.5 hours.
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
