FRIDAY 9th MAY (1950 hours)
The Team was contacted by North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) to assist an ambulance crew dealing with a difficult extraction of an injured biker to the ambulance in Flatts Lane area.
The two Land Rovers and other team members headed to Flatts Lane Country Park. En route , we were informed the crew had managed to transfer the casualty to the ambulance. One Rover and a number of personnel were close to the Park, they continued to the ambulance to ensure no assistance was required..None was, so the team stood down.
13 team members were involved for about 1 hour
Applications can be made to join the team in a support role (Operational Support) or as a hill going (Search and Rescue) member.
Applications for either role can be made at any time. Intakes for Operational Support members occur at various times of the year. There is one annual intake for Search and Rescue normally each September.
